BYU Pre-Medical Club
Create Your Future in Medicine
The premedical club seeks to create an inclusive environment among premedical students at BYU. We seek to create a space in which students can find support, friendship, and resources to help them through their premedical journey.
We will create this environment by holding local events where students will hear from speakers such as members of medical school admission committees, physicians, and former BYU students who are current medical students.
We will create a culture of acceptance and inclusion by partnering and holding events with clubs that represent traditionally underrepresented populations in medicine and higher education.
We will hold resource nights where students will be able to learn about different resources such as clubs, shadowing, and clinical opportunities available to them.
Lastly, we will work to give back to the community by holding service projects to give back to the local community.
Through these events, we will create a network for all premedical students at BYU where they will feel valued, supported, and welcomed.
In addition, we offer a mentoring service through the Premed Club's Peer Mentoring Program, where premed students can find support, gain valuable insights, and learn from upperclassmen through 1-on-1 mentoring. These networks will allow them to flourish and help them to become culturally compassionate medical students and physicians who will be able to treat patients who stand in need.
I’ve always been interested in medicine and was pleased when my brother became a doctor. But after thinking seriously about that field, I realized that what intrigued me was not the science, not the chemistry or biology of medicine, but the narrative – the story of each patient, each illness.
